Overview

A professional educator with over 30 years’ experience, Tom Crompton joins the Northumberland College Board in the role of Chair. Currently employed as a Director of Learning and Skills for a national charity, Tom has previously served as Director on a number of learning and skills councils, including County Durham and Tees Valley, Wiltshire and Swindon, as well as Gateshead Local Authority. In addition to his full-time roles, Tom has established and led two charitable companies, Newcastle Literacy Trust, and the Tyneside Education Trust. Tom has represented the UK on a number of international visits including the World Skills Conference in South Korea and has spoken at a wide range of conferences including the CBI’s prestigious annual event.
