The government Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new, six month job placements for those aged 16 to 24 years, in receipt of universal credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.
The scheme is designed to provide high-quality placements to give young people the opportunity to develop skills, confidence and knowledge to secure long-term employment.
The scheme covers: 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months, associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.
We are an official Kickstart Gateway provider. If your business is offering placements then we can support your application by applying for the Kickstart Scheme grant on your behalf - submitting all relevant information on your placements and providing the required employability training and specialist training as required.
You will support the young people in the workplace to develop their employment skills and experience with support to look for long-term work, support with CV and interview preparation and training to develop their skills, such as team work, organisational and communications skills as part of the role.

Employability training is an essential part of the Kickstart Scheme. EPNE can provide this for you at a cost of £600: Action planning – short, medium and long term, communication skills, interpersonal skills, customer service skills, motivation, assertiveness, planning and organising, leadership skills, teamwork, time management, problem solving, mindset qualities, knowledge, skills and behaviours for employment, CV writing and interview skills.

A young person joining your organisation for a Kickstart placement in England can progress on to an apprenticeship with you. You would have access to the full range of financial support the government provides for apprenticeships.
